Austin/Travis County Health & Human Services Department

The purpose of the Austin/Travis County Health and Human Services Department is to work in partnership with the community to promote health, safety, and well being. They provide Public Health, Social, and Environmental Health services for Austin and Travis County, and serve a population of nearly one million. The role of public health is to promote community-wide wellness; prevent disease; and to protect the community from infectious diseases, environmental hazards, and epidemics.

 

Central Texas Sustainability Indicators Project

The Central Texas Sustainability Indicators Project (CTSIP) is intended to increase regional awareness and commitment to sustainability.  This goal will be accomplished through an ongoing public discussion that defines Central Texas residents' vision of sustainability, creates quality of life indicators that allow us to track our progress and acts as a catalyst for increasing the effectiveness of community engagement. 

 

City of Austin, Community Care Services Department

The Community Health Center system is the family doctor for over 45,000 children and adults in Austin and Travis County. The Community Health Centers (CHCs) provide outpatient primary healthcare, dental, behavioral health, and HIV/AIDS treatment services.  Fourteen CHC locations serve Travis County residents whose low incomes and lack of private health insurance qualify them for enrollment.

Community Action Network

CAN’s mission is to achieve sustainable social, health, educational and economic outcomes through engaging the community in a planning and implementation process that coordinates and optimizes public, private and individual actions and resources.

 

Indigent Care Collaboration

The ICC is an alliance of healthcare safety net providers that work together to increase access, improve quality and impact financing solutions to provide care to the region's medically indigent.

 

insure-a-kid

insure•a•kid helps uninsured Central Texas families get enrolled in non-commercial health care coverage programs, including CHIP, Medicaid, and other programs for adults and children available in our community.

 

Seton Family of Hospitals

The Seton Family of Hospitals, a not-for-profit organization, is a leading provider of healthcare services in Central Texas, serving an 11-county population of 1.4 million.  The network includes five urban acute care hospitals, two rural hospitals, a mental health hospital, several strategically located health facilities that provide medical care for well patients, and three primary care clinics for the uninsured.

 

St. David’s Community Health Foundation

St. David's Community Health Foundation is a community-owned charitable foundation that is working to improve the health of Central Texans. Through leadership, education and collaboration with other community organizations, the Foundation supports programs that increase access to health care.

 

St. David’s Healthcare

St. David's HealthCare is a partnership between the not-for-profit St. David's HealthCare System and HCA - The Healthcare Company, the nation's largest provider of health care. St. David's HealthCare provides quality, compassionate care through four comprehensive acute-care hospitals in Austin -- St. David's Medical Center, St. David's North Austin Medical Center, St. David's South Austin Hospital, St. David's Round Rock Medical Center, and St. David's Georgetown Hospital as well as outpatient surgery centers, a rehabilitation center, a psychiatric facility and occupational health services.

 

Williamson County and Cities Health District

The Williamson County & Cities Health District is the local public health department for Williamson County, Texas. The Health District has provided public health services to Williamson County since 1943. The agency was known as the Williamson County Health Department until 1989 when it was organized as a health district. The Williamson County & Cities Health District resulted from a cooperative agreement among the governing bodies of the cities of Cedar Park, Georgetown, Round Rock, and Taylor and the Williamson County Commissioners' Court.
